Location: Goma, DRC
The World Bank, a leading multi-lateral institution in global economic development, is looking for a highly organized, energized and experienced person capable of operating effectively in a very demanding fast-paced environment to serve as a Driver to provide an effective and efficient day to day logistics transport function for the Office in Goma, DRC. S/he will work as part of the office car pool and will drive office vehicles for transport of authorized personnel usually within Goma, DRC but also in the surrounding regions and countries. S/he will be responsible for the delivery and collection of mail. S/he will report directly to the Goma Head of Office or designated staff for day to day assignment.
Key responsibilities:
The Incumbent’s duties include but are not limited to:
Transport authorized personnel to/from airports, meetings, appointments, and other official duties,
Transport authorized personnel on business travel to/from locations throughout DRC and surrounding countries
Ensure the delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items.
Meet official personnel at the airport and facilitate immigration and customs formalities
Ensure day-to-day maintenance of vehicles, checking oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc.
Perform minor repairs and arrange for other repairs.
Ensure that vehicles are kept clean always
Follow all steps required by the World Bank Road Safety Policy in case of travel and accident. Log all trips, daily mileage, fuel consumption, oil changes, lubrications, etc.
Strict adherence to the World Bank’s Road Safety Policies and procedures as well as the country’s National High Way Code. Assist in protocol, visa, airport clearance
Any other duties as may be required for the mission of the World Bank
Selection criteria:
(i) Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent; (ii) 5 years driving experience, experience in driving 4X4 car. Defensive driving skills being an advantage (iii) Possess a required valid driving license with excellent knowledge of road safety.
