II. Performance Criteria
Main Purpose To provide Legal and regulatory support to the Company and monitor that the legal affairs affecting the Company are in compliance with Organization in-country policy, domestic and international Laws and regulations.
1 - Key Performance AREA (Objective): Weight:15%
IN-COUNTRY LEGAL PLANNING FOR THE DEPARTMENT
Key Performance INDICATORS : Performance Standards/Targets
1.1 Maintains awareness of relevant country and industry forces affecting the Business’ Legal environment.
1.2 Checks that the company follows the stipulated relevant regulations and procedures applicable in the ICT industry.
1.3. Prepares a draft service providers list (external counsel and suppliers) for the Legal Department annually and submits to the Regional Head of Legal and Regulatory.
1.4. Drafts divisional operating manuals for the Legal Department and submits to the Regional Head Legal, Regulatory & Compliance for approval Annually
2- Key Performance AREA (Objective): Weight:15%
IN-COUTRY REPORTING Key Performance INDICATORS : Performance Standards/Targets
2.1 Prepares a draft Legal Department Report monthly and quarterly for consideration by the Regional Head Legal and Regulatory
2.2 Updates Legal Register monthly for the Legal Department for review by the Regional Head Legal, Regulatory & Compliance for guidance on further action.
3 - Key Performance AREA (Objective): Weight: 10%
IN-COUNTRY COMPLIANCE Key Performance INDICATORS : Performance Standards/Targets
3.1 Identifies Legislation that affects the Company in compliance with domestic laws and International Standards.
3.2 Prepares draft legal opinions for internal stakeholders for review by the Regional Head Legal, Regulatory & Compliance. 3.3 Researches on the regulatory and legal framework applying to existing and new products and services
3.4 Researches on new legal developments on generic agreements and terms and conditions and proposes amendments for consideration by the Regional Head Legal, Regulatory & Compliance.
3.5 Prepares an in-country legal bulletin Quarterly on various legal topics.
3.6 Maintains the regulatory checklist and checks that each Department is complying with the set requirements
3.7 Reviews agreements for consideration by the supervisor.

IN-COUNTRY LITIGATION
Key Performance INDICATORS : Performance Standards/Targets
4.1 Researches on applicable laws arising from reports on potential litigation cases
4.2 Liaises with the relevant Departments to gain further understanding of the legal claims and/or defence
4.3 Prepares a draft opinion or report on the company’s prospects of success in the claim or defence for consideration by the Regional Head Legal, Regulatory & Compliance.
4.4 Prepares a draft Legal Brief to external counsel
4.5 Liaises with external counsel as assigned by the Regional Head Legal, Regulatory and Compliance.
III. Key Decisions and Accountability
Key Decisions:
▪ Decides on best legal research methods
▪ Decides on input added to draft legal operating manuals
▪ Decides on input for legal opinions
