CONTEXT
SODEICO, a company specialized in recruitment and outsourcing qualified personnel is recruiting a qualified Assistant Miller. He must be dynamic, pro-active and ambitious possessing individual capacities. He will be responsible for assisting Head Miller at production technicalities & operating shift. He must be experienced in managing maize flour mill & aware with the detailed aspect of Maize flour production, the person should flow the all ISO Format.
ORGANIZATIONAL POSITION
This teacher will be placed under the authority of Head miller.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES
He/She will be in charge of :
Monitoring quality of the flour and aware with technical specifications.
Completing production report after every shift as per requirement.
Liaising with the laboratory to ensure that the mill is producing product within specification
Notifying the maintenance fitter of any maintenance problems and assist in their resolution.
Ensuring that the mill is running efficiently and with optimum extraction, and monitors and controls all milling machinery, adjusting settings where necessary.
Making your supervisor aware of the time, training, and equipment that is needed to carry out the job properly.
Liaising with dispatch, packaging and intake operator to ensure that product is available for packaging and dispatch by the required time.
Maintaining and monitor production in respect of output yield/extraction capacity against set targets. React to variances.
Assisting in other tasks as directed. Ensure the Health and Safety of all subordinates within Company guidelines and current legislation.
Be aware with the local health & safety legislation.
Ensure safe working environment for staff & visitor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Education, experience and skills
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in maize flour milling.
Experience on BUHLER flour mill.
Experienced in food safety.
Graduate or Diploma in flour milling technology ( ISMT)
Knowledge of ISO 9001,14001,18001,22001 is preferable.
Knowledge of MS-Word, MS-Excel is essential.
Must be able to speak English. French and Swahili knowledge is preferable.
Deep knowledge of mill design, machinery and equipment, electrical and electronic control systems.
Physical Demands (Typical):
Standing, stooping, bending, climbing, and kneeling occasionally.
Close visual work on PC and controls; determine detail, able to distinguish colors.
Able to wear required PPE.
Work extended shifts and weekends as needed.
Climb to various levels in the facility using ladders and able to work in confined spaces.
LANGUAGES
-Speak and write fluent French and English;
COMPUTERS
-Excellent command of computer skills (Word, Excel and Internet).
