Responsibilities: Under the overall supervision of the Chief Resident Auditor, the incumbent will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following functions:

 

  • Ensuring that administrative tasks assigned by the Chief Resident Auditor are carried out in an efficient and effective manner and in accordance with the allotted timeframes.
  • Documenting administrative actions under his/her responsibility.
  • Participating in the conduct of audit assignments.
  • Assisting in organizing and maintaining the audit working papers.
  • Collecting relevant information and documentation related to specific audit assignments; calculate, compute and verify data.
  • Documenting and ensuring completeness of audit working papers in assigned audit assignments.
  • Attending audit entry and exit conferences and any other meetings and documenting minutes as required.
  • Perform other related duties, as required.
  • Carrying out field audit assignments as part of the audit team.
  • Performing administrative tasks such as:
    • Making travel arrangements for the audit team members
    • Preparing attendance and leave records, and documenting minutes of the section’s meetings
    • Tracking status of audit assignments and monitoring recommendations,
    • Coordinating with other mission sections and units and liaising with the OIOS office at UNHQ
    • Coordinating arrangements for seminars and conferences for the Resident Audit Office within and outside the mission area
    • Maintaining a calendar of appointments for the Chief Resident Auditor.
    • Providing general office support services such as requisitioning for office supplies, maintenance of equipment, and making arrangement for meetings.

 

Results Expected: 

Contributes to the effectiveness and efficiency of the department/unit by providing administrative support and specialized assistance to more senior staff in the assigned areas of responsibility.

Ability to operate a computer with MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher, Accounting and Audit software.

Qualifications:

 

Education:  High school diploma or equivalent. Training in finance,

business administration or audit will be an added advantage.

 

Experience: A minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in administrative services, finance, accounting, audit, or related area.

 

Language:  English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in oral and written English and French is required.

Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which will be followed by competency-based interview.
