MAIN DUTIES

  • Manage Power Projects as delegated by Manager, in all Regions according to Budget, time frames and specifications.
  • Plan and set up scope of works for, new power systems required, additional capacity and upgrade of existing infrastructure.
  • Perform periodic maintenance on UPS, AVR, power distribution systems, ATI, Generators, Rectifiers and air-conditioners
  • Identify and eliminate risks caused by power systems.
  • Audit power systems and dimension
  • Prepare & Manage Budgets for these projects.
  • Control all documentation related to the Projects.(Quotes, PO’s, Invoices, Acceptances, As-Build documents)
  • Prepare maintenance Schedules and update.
  • Submit reports on weekly & monthly basis indicating progress on projects, power consumption and equipment status.
  • Interface with Internal departments and also Regions.
  • Interface & manage Sub Contractors for scopes of work ; follow up orders ,  implementation work, etc.
  • Manage power sites (MSC’s, BSC’s, etc) together with Maintenance teams.
  • Hold and chair meetings internally and with external Supplier’s.
  • Other tasks delegated by the Manager Facilities.
  • Manage Site Quality Control regarding electrical installations. (New sites and upgrades/additions to existing sites)
  • Control sub-contractors if they adhere to HSE Rules as requested by the group Vodafone/ Vodacom

COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES)

  • Good knowledge of Electricity, Generators, UPS’s, Rectifiers, AVR and Air-conditioners.
  • Able to do Power dimensioning.
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-tasking
  • Must speak English and French
  • Computer skills – Microsoft projects, word, excel, PowerPoint, e mail , internet
  • Planning, organising & co-ordinating.
