Responsibilities:  Under the supervision of the Unit Supervisor, the incumbent will perform the following duties:

  • Assist in the provision of logistical and administrative support in the acquisition of a wide variety of good and services in accordance with the UN Financial regulations and Rules and Procurement manual.
  • Assist in performing market surveys.
  • Assist in preparation of tender documents (e.g. Invitations to bids, Requests for Proposals and request for Quotation) based on the nature of requirements and cost of procurement involved.
  • Assist in the preparation of source selection plans in conformity with the Procurement Manual.
  • Review technical evaluation received and verifies their conformity with the source selection plan.
  • Assist in preparation of bid abstracts and compilation of data contained in quotations, proposals and bids to determine which supplier can deliver the required goods/services in accordance with the UN Procurement Manual.
  • Assist in finalizing purchase orders and contracts for approval by the Supervisor or the Chief Procurement Officer;
  • Draft routine correspondence.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by the Unit supervisor.

Qualifications:

Education:  High school diploma or equivalent. Certification/diploma or other supplemental academic qualifications or training in business administration or procurement would be considered an asset. Applicants must possess a valid National driving permit.

 

Experience: At least 4 years of experience in experience in procurement, administrative services, finance or related area. Previous experience in working with international agencies would be considered an asset.

 

Language:  English and French are the working languages of the United Nations. For this post, fluency in oral and written French is required. Fluency in oral and written English is an added advantage.
