Responsibilities:  Under the supervision of the Chief Demand and Inventory Management, located within the Inventory Management Unit in the Property Management Section, Integrated Support Services, the incumbent will perform the following:

 

  • Analyze materials in stock and associated inventory levels seeking to optimize quantities on hand and advise management on accurate stock levels, inventory turnover and surplus and inventory statistics.
  • Verify and analyze inventory stock levels based on demand history and ensure optimal and acceptable stock levels.
  • Review demand history and verify minimum and maximum levels for inventory. Analyze stock record accounts using a variety of demand management tools in order to make recommendations as to “ABC” inventory activity categories.
  • Ensure the necessary control, accounting and management mechanism of MONUSCO assets, materials and commodities are applied and the mission Stock accounts are in compliance with appropriate guidelines.
  • Monitor and follow up the delivery assets and expendables in timely manner.
  • Sorting, registering and distributing mails and other documents.
  • Maintain records for time and attendance for the Chief’s signature.
  • Receiving phone calls and visitors and refer them to the appropriate office.  Process and follow-up on administrative arrangement and forms related to the official of staff.
  • Photocopying documents and other materials requested.  Maintain files of rules, regulation, administrative instruction and other related documentation.
  • Delivering urgent mails/messages and prioritizes most important issues.  Maintain up to date work unit files (both paper and electronic).
  • Maintain records for time and attendance for the Chief’s signature.
  • Receiving phone calls and visitors and refer them to the appropriate office.  Process and follow-up on administrative arrangement and forms related to the official of staff.
  • Perform other related administrative duties, as required by the Chief.

Qualifications:

 

Education:  High school diploma or equivalent. Technical college diploma in accounting, mathematics, inventory management or in business administration is desirable.

 

Experience: At least 5 years of experience in administrative services, accounting, audit, inventory management or related areas. Experience in the field of inventory management systems is desirable. Experience in Business Object Reporting Tools is desirable. Solid computer skills in word processing, Excel and spread sheets are desirable.

 

Language:             English and French are the working languages of the United Nations. For this post, fluency in oral and written French is required. Fluency in oral and written English is an added advantage.
