MAIN  JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Interface between Operations, BIT and Finance on all budget related requirements;
  • Biz case analysis, obtaining inputs of estimates of costs, revenues, savings
  • Analysis of actual benefits generated by an investment eg BTS, Transmission link, 3G, Backbone through analysis of actual outcomes created by the investment
  • Analysis of Network opex in detail so as to thoroughly understand the drivers of the costs, the revenues they create and to consider improvements to create greater value in the business;
  • To track actual spend, commitment, additions of annual capex v the budget and to report on the same weekly. Manage the spend with the Project Teams in order to keep spend on track to budget
  • Understand the current opex of the function and the changes to operations that are planned for the budget year then to build the opex budget in line with the operations planned for the budget year.
  • Understand the proposed investments for the budget year. Analyse these, prepare business cases for each investment & rank by return (ROI, NPV etc) and recommend with the Chief the proposed investments & consolidate the function Capex budget for approval
  • Check that all CAPEX and OPEX budgets are applied with a strategy in mind to lower future cost and drive sustainability across all Operational division WRT to budget expenditure and requirements.
  • Assist with control around budget allocation and usage across the Operation.
  • An The OPEX and CAPEX administrators will dually report to HoD PM and the business partner.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post graduation with a major in Management, Finance,Accounting
  • Other relevant accounting,business & financial analysis qualification
  • Engineering or technical qualification will be advantage
  • Minimum 4 years experience in budgeting & business case preparation
  • Experiance in the telecommunication industry
  • Operation experience in a OPCO,Region or telecom sector will be an advantage
